The vicious Bol’Goreth rampages through the wildlands at the edge of the Valdari Marsh, and those left in his wake babble terrifying tales of destruction. However, dark rumors hint at something more sinister behind the simple-minded brutality: something horrific that threatens to spill out across the realm.

Additions rated separately: + New Scout. Love using the traps. + New Healer. Insanely freaking strong. Just what a healer should've been to not be boring. + 2 new characters. Dwarfs are boring and suck but Roganna carries it. - Scenarios. Ehhh, pretty boring even by Descent standards. + Tiles. Some of the best and prettiest tiles. Adds a lot to a Descent collection. - Plague Worm monster. It's whatever. It's a worm. Obligatory plague-bearing worm. Not strong. - Harpies. Does not fit the theme. Weird creature. Not very good either. - Overlord Infector class. Overlord always feels trash in every version of Descent. Seems like one of the stronger classes but again, OL is trash. This doesn't fix its strength. - Troll. Whatever. Boring troll. Why should I care? The game already has Orcs and Giants and whatever other huge regular monsters that are actually cool. I have no idea how they made the troll boring when the others are interesting. No mini for it in box like all of these damn bosses. Underused, should've been used to make you scared of it by showing up in scenarios for a few turns and wandering off just to get the blood pumping before the final fight. + Items. Neat. Probably consider these necessary like all items. Overall, I like a lot of the Hero aspects of this expansion but boy howdy do I hate all the Overlord crap as usual.

I liked the new heroes, condition and especially the monsters. The quests were not the best I have seen, and although a big fan of "swampy"-themed stories, I did not get much from the newly added mini-campaign. The overlord has a pretty nice class to focus their XP, with cards that stay in play and thin down their deck. The new search room is ok (same mechanic as in LotW), but it remains as just an alternative for heroes to explore if they feel like they are losing the encounter.

Two more characters, two classes, two monster types, items and another detrimental condition (like we need that) to add to the Road to Legends, since this is only way I seem to play anymore. The rest, although well presented, is pushed aside.
