An ancient city full of peril and mystery awaits in the ruins of Sudanya, a lost civilization on the edges of Terrinoth. Horrid creatures haunt the heroes’ every step, but powerful allies will guide them through the twisting maze of wilderness and broken cityscape.

Felt more balanced, with more interesting quests than the Base Descent 2. Recommended for those that like 2nd Edition Descent.

Practically essential as it adds Overlord cards and minions that actually allow OL wins. In addition, the negative condition and the larger room tiles are a complete necessity if you want any sort of interest to be breathed back into the core game. Definitely one of the best aspects of Descent as it adds very interesting monsters and a new theme of tiles. HEROES - Logan - Durik + Ulma + Dezra (favorite char) CLASSES + Apothecary (one of my faves) + Beastmaster + Hexer - Treasure Hunter MONSTERS - Goblin Witcher + Volucrix Reaver - Carrion Drake + Arachyura OTHER + Tiles (NECESSARY) / Scenarios + Items / Condition / Relics + OL alternate starter (OL cards still suck, this is just nicer)

I have played the majority of one campaign of this game to date, and from what I can tell it's a worthy expansion. I really like the introduction of allies and the added shop items in particular. However, the new Overlord basic deck is under-powered and some of the new monster abilities (i.e., the Goblin Witcher's Curse) are somewhat situational. All in all, as a "big box" expansion it's definitely worth picking up.
