Recovered from its times of trouble and under heavy threat from the Daqan Lords, the city of Nerekhall stands firm in its declaration: “The shadow has passed.” Yet sinister forces continue to build strength within the hidden corners of the city. They prepare for the day soon to come when Nerekhall, the baronies, and all of Terrinoth will tremble before their might.

Great expansion with lots of variety. This is the first expansion for Descent 2e that has a very distinctly different feel to it.

I like the new heroes, monsters, items and especially the classes to add variety to the game. In addition, another full adventure give the heroes a grand quest to perform. I don't, however, like the corner-cutting fact that the most important adversary in most of the scenarios, the lieutenant, it represented by a cardboard token, while the heroes and monsters are nice plastic miniatures (yes - I continue to harp on this issue). There are 4 lieutenants in the box set, and the miniatures are sold separately.

Definitely one of the best aspects of Descent as it adds very interesting monsters and a new theme of tiles. For big-box expansions, the rating is adding all + points and removing 2 from the final (15 possible) HEROES - Orkell - Rendiel + Ravaella (insane!) + Tinashi CLASSES - Shadow Walker + Conjurer - Skirmisher + Bard MONSTERS - Ironbound (too few allowed, weak) - Changeling (weak, entire Changeling mechanic sucks because they die too easily) + Ynfernael Hulk - Rat Swarm OTHER + Tiles / Scenarios + Items / Condition / Relics - OL classes / OL choice tokens (high potential, underused)
