Queen Ariad serves as the evil Overlord for the Labyrinth of Ruin campaign, and the Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) – Queen Ariad Lieutenant Pack allows her to be used in other campaigns where she normally would not appear, even if one lacks the Labyrinth of Ruin expansion.

At least one lieutenant pack is necessary for any Overlord playing Descent. The game is more than a bit unbalanced in favor of the heroes and these provide more options for the Overlord that might give him a bit of a fighting chance. These lieutenant packs contain a deck of cards, tokens, and a plastic miniature. The deck of cards provides the Overlord with some additional options by spending tokens that he earns through adventures. This eventually swings back in the favor of the heroes a little bit because after spending these tokens they are given to the heroes to use for small bonuses. An Overlord can only use one lieutenant pack per campaign so I haven't used them all but have bought many due to the awesome plastic miniature to replace the cardboard token representing most of the villains in the game. One day I plan to paint them all but that is more of a pipe dream than attainable goal...

Nouvelles mécanique d'agent très sympa avec les pions de menace. Pas indispensable mais cela ajoute une bonne mécanique de jeu (surtout pour le seigneur du mal :) ).

Why do I keep buying Lieutenant Packs when I only play with the Road to Legends App? I like the miniatures, which can be integrated into some other fantasy games, and I really despise the boss-monster tokens. The most important antagonist of a champaign should not be represented by a cardboard token.
