Overall, thrilled to have more critters for Descent, but I'm not thrilled by the secret room rules and some of the new fiddly mechanisms.

First off, it's nice to have options. So to adorn a game that's designed to be expansible is almost a necessity. New heroes - great. New monsters - great. New quest - more than great. But the implementation of secret rooms is done forcibly to implement new stuff in the game. It's almost never given a chance and it's just a tease for heroes to attempt when they are either sure to lose or win. Not to be tried during pressing quests (which almost all are!). Finally, I don't see a reason for the OL to throw in the side-quest in a normal campaign at all. He's pretty well off playing the 9 mandatory quests. By trying the expansion quests he's giving the opportunity to heroes to venture for more $$$ and stronger equipment. There should be a reward for OL introducing the Wyrm campaign. Maybe houserule it.

Anything to bulk up my copy of Descent is a welcome addition, in my opinion. While this expansion did not offer as much as I would have liked, the addition of the Geomancer and Champion classes were very much welcome. The inclusion of new Rumor cards and a Secret Room that can be found through searching also adds a bit to the gameplay. Its consistent inclusion into my games of Descent is assured.
