Conclave provides a great way to play with 5 or 6 players with little to no downtime, and a great big oversize box to hold all your cards and way more. The only thing I wish is that it included a way to organize the sets from the Twilight Garden Expansion which was released shortly after the Conclave box. Each of the other expansions can be mixed into different theme groups, and it would have been nice if they could have anticipated the next release with it in mind.

An absolute unabashed cash grab. Stores cards vertically so they end up warping in storage. The ONE foam block they've included won't hold anything in place as it's a different shape than the space it's supposed to fill. The components that come IN Conclave (the day/night banner) don't actually fit in the box in any meaningful manner.. The original game rarely warrants more than the original four player card sets. The totem cards (all twelve of them) are the only reason to want this product and twelve cards are simply not worth the asking price for an empty cardboard box. For an "expansion" that's marketed as a storage solution, it completely fails to serve that purpose. At the time Conclave was released, the Broken Token insert, at almost half the price of Conclave, stored all Mystic Vale cards and components and had a much nicer component tray than AEG included in this total white elephant. The BT insert also fits in the original MV box. The fact that Broken Token now makes an insert for this is a complete slap in the face for AEG; the "storage solution" needs a third party storage solution.

Update : So far, I'm not seeing loads of new ideas. Still lots of "helmet" strategies. I'm not sure this box is worth it. Everything can fit into the base box if you remove the insert (I own everything as of Jan 2019). The conclaves are ok, but are really brought down by the fact that you are going to have to sift through every damn card at the end of your game to rebuild the conclave sets. Loads of work to do that. What they should have done, is release this box once ALL content for the game has been released, and then released "fixed conclaves/cubes" to be used. That would have solved everything, and *might* have justified the large box - which is still only 1/3 full. Before Conclave, I was able to fit all things MV in the base box, with room to spare for TG. With Conclave, 1/3 of the box is used up. I sure hope they release enough (good, fresh, and new mechanics) content to fill the other 2/3 of this box. I paid $23.50 for a ding dent copy, and thats about what its worth to me. If AEG was kind enough to release the conclaves info, you could easily homebrew everything meaningful in this "expansion". The $36 price tag would have been justifiable if they had included all the promos.
