Marvel Champions is a fantastic co-op card game set in the Marvel Universe. As a Living Card Game, it thrives on new releases: there are hero packs with new characters and player cards, and scenario packs with new villains and other challenges. This Hero pack introduces Drax, and a bunch of new player cards. It is a worthy addition to the system!

The good thing with Drax is that most of his cards are very cheap, so unlike other 4-hand size heroes, his hand size doesn't feel so bad. Even his big damage 3-cost card can easily go down to 0 cost. One thing to note with Drax is that almost all of his damage is done through basic attacks, so exhausting to do anything else (including defending) is something you need to really make sure you want to commit to it. Villain encounter cards that exhaust or stun your hero are particularly brutal on Drax. His base stats are 1/1/2, with 14 health and 4 hand size (in hero form, 6 in alter-ego). Despite these poor looking stats, his passive ability and hero-specific upgrades quickly get him up to 3-5 attack. He comes with a protection deck by default, and while most cards are good, Moondragon (3 cost ally) is pretty useless, and Martyr (4 cost ally) seems ok, but never got to play given that she just costs too much (Drax doesn't have 2x Power of Protection in his deck by default). Gamora (3 cost basic ally) is great though, and so is Drax's specific hero ally (Mantis, 2 cost). The leadership extra cards included in this pack seem quite good, the rest are situational.
