Pennsylvania: The stocks add another interesting dimension to the game. United Kingdom: There are too few locomotive cards for this version which uses them as currency. I am nor fond of the pastel colors used on the gaming equipment.

UK. Much more fiddly than the basic game with permits required to travel across the water and to different countries from England. A case of more equals length. Tony guided Steph through. Big swings can be caused by failing connections which are usually thwarted unintentionally. A plus for a gateway game, but not much fun. This has always been my least favourite aspect of the TTR games.

I absolutely love both the Penn & UK versions! I have not decided which is my favorite version, but whichever it is, it is definitely my favorite version of the game to play. (The other is a close 2nd). The stock option for Penn is an excellent way to make you think before selecting tickets and building routes. You can build lots of small routes and collect stocks for bonus points at the end or you can build the long routes and collect fewer stocks but score far more points from your built routes. In the end though, it's usually whomever connected the most routes over 10 points that wins. The UK version is probably the mot intricate version-you have to purchase the rights and technology to build routes- but that's what makes I so much fun. If you love the original game, and love strategy games, This is definitely the best version for you.
