Down rated after playing again a few years later. It is still a very simple variant to teach players who have already played ticket to ride. The issue the stock market game that it lays over the game is not particularly intuitive to win at unless the players are used to or have played other stock games.

I love the investments in the UK edition - they add enough to the decision-space that it's interesting where normal TtR can get boring.

THANKS, SECRET ATTICUS 2015! Variable mechanisms will add some hinky twists to an old favorite. Penn, with its stock options, looks particularly good. While I'll admit to be weary of TtR, everyone in the family enjoys it, and it's accessible to my nine-year-old, so I'm happy enough for the opportunity to game with my family. Update: Nine-year-old L was not fond of the stock option. Fourteen-year-old R looked sideways at the notion of technologies, but she's taken to the stocks.
