THANKS, SECRET ATTICUS 2015! Variable mechanisms will add some hinky twists to an old favorite. Penn, with its stock options, looks particularly good. While I'll admit to be weary of TtR, everyone in the family enjoys it, and it's accessible to my nine-year-old, so I'm happy enough for the opportunity to game with my family. Update: Nine-year-old L was not fond of the stock option. Fourteen-year-old R looked sideways at the notion of technologies, but she's taken to the stocks.

I absolutely love both the Penn & UK versions! I have not decided which is my favorite version, but whichever it is, it is definitely my favorite version of the game to play. (The other is a close 2nd). The stock option for Penn is an excellent way to make you think before selecting tickets and building routes. You can build lots of small routes and collect stocks for bonus points at the end or you can build the long routes and collect fewer stocks but score far more points from your built routes. In the end though, it's usually whomever connected the most routes over 10 points that wins. The UK version is probably the mot intricate version-you have to purchase the rights and technology to build routes- but that's what makes I so much fun. If you love the original game, and love strategy games, This is definitely the best version for you.
