I absolutely love both the Penn & UK versions! I have not decided which is my favorite version, but whichever it is, it is definitely my favorite version of the game to play. (The other is a close 2nd). The stock option for Penn is an excellent way to make you think before selecting tickets and building routes. You can build lots of small routes and collect stocks for bonus points at the end or you can build the long routes and collect fewer stocks but score far more points from your built routes. In the end though, it's usually whomever connected the most routes over 10 points that wins. The UK version is probably the mot intricate version-you have to purchase the rights and technology to build routes- but that's what makes I so much fun. If you love the original game, and love strategy games, This is definitely the best version for you.

The Pennsylvania map is excellent! The stocks are a nice component and add a thought-driving element that doesn't overshadow the base. It's a small addition but it works so very well without much added complexity. Nicely done! I doubt I will ever play the UK map. The technologies make me scratch my head. They don't jibe with the underlying premise and seem to change TtR into a different game.

I love the investments in the UK edition - they add enough to the decision-space that it's interesting where normal TtR can get boring.
