Very much a gamer's variant on the game - love both sides of the map. If you like TTR but want it more involved then this is the one for you.

I absolutely love both the Penn & UK versions! I have not decided which is my favorite version, but whichever it is, it is definitely my favorite version of the game to play. (The other is a close 2nd). The stock option for Penn is an excellent way to make you think before selecting tickets and building routes. You can build lots of small routes and collect stocks for bonus points at the end or you can build the long routes and collect fewer stocks but score far more points from your built routes. In the end though, it's usually whomever connected the most routes over 10 points that wins. The UK version is probably the mot intricate version-you have to purchase the rights and technology to build routes- but that's what makes I so much fun. If you love the original game, and love strategy games, This is definitely the best version for you.

The concept of technologies in the UK is great but the map is ruined by the inclusion of the Southampton-New York route which sets up an alternative victory condition that ignores both the new mechanics and other players.
