I played just the United Kingdom side so far, but read about the Pennsylvania side and I think this expansion is one of the most complex for this game, it adds a little bit more play time, but puts this simple and great game into another level of complexity and I enjoyed it a lot.

Rating increased to 7.7 as I've now played the Pennsylvania side and found it to be a fun variant. Trying to get value from your stocks while still achieving your tickets added a nice decision layer. Only UK played so far. Luck of drawing a Loco from the deck is even more increased as they are needed everywhere. Good that they added the any 4 cards = loco rule. Enjoy the concept though and will try again.

THANKS, SECRET ATTICUS 2015! Variable mechanisms will add some hinky twists to an old favorite. Penn, with its stock options, looks particularly good. While I'll admit to be weary of TtR, everyone in the family enjoys it, and it's accessible to my nine-year-old, so I'm happy enough for the opportunity to game with my family. Update: Nine-year-old L was not fond of the stock option. Fourteen-year-old R looked sideways at the notion of technologies, but she's taken to the stocks.
