Perhaps my family's first meta-gateway game, leading into the gateway game which is TTR! The simplified rules and gameplay work great for younger kids. I sought some rule clarifications: you may discard tickets for any reason, and you also claim tickets immediately (even when just topdecked). We play with an equal # of turns variant.

This is our favourite family game right now. This one is easy enough for my 4 1/2 year old to play yet still heaps of fun for the rest of the family. There is some strategy but still a large amount of luck involved so the youngest players still have a good chance of winning. Great game, definitely recommended for families with kids under 10 years old.

Board looks very chaotic during the game and I needed to stay very focused to see the connection between some cities, especially when there were more and more trains. I think it's matter of too contrasting colors and too big distances between tracks. It was a bit tiring at first play after being used to regular of TtR where board is super clear.
