In my opinion, it is not so simple to adapt a gateway game for children. TtR may be a very easy game, but still will be too tough for children due to the size of the map, the routes, the scoring... And this is the kind of adaptation that retains the essence of the original game while making it simple but good enough for children. Great.

Board looks very chaotic during the game and I needed to stay very focused to see the connection between some cities, especially when there were more and more trains. I think it's matter of too contrasting colors and too big distances between tracks. It was a bit tiring at first play after being used to regular of TtR where board is super clear.

Perhaps my family's first meta-gateway game, leading into the gateway game which is TTR! The simplified rules and gameplay work great for younger kids. I sought some rule clarifications: you may discard tickets for any reason, and you also claim tickets immediately (even when just topdecked). We play with an equal # of turns variant.
