Ticket to Ride: Europe takes you on a new train adventure across Europe. From Edinburgh to Constantinople and from Lisbon to Moscow, you’ll visit great cities of turn-of-the-century Europe. Like the original Ticket to Ride, the game remains elegantly simple, can be learned in 5 minutes, and appeals to both families and experienced gamers. Ticket to Ride: Europe is a complete, new game and does not require the original version.

Accessible yet at least some depth. Good family game. However, I would NEVER play this unless I had a pressing reason (like playing with nongamer kids or something). Why play this newbie-friendly game when you could play a better one (Carcassonne)? Sure, it's better than Monopoly. That, however, does not make it any fun. Vastly over-rated game.

Of all the versions of this game, Europe is not my favorite yet I still immensely enjoy playing it. The "new" mountain passes make for added difficulty and mirror the real life challenge it took to build the actual European railway system. While I do enjoy the station building system (in which a player can build a station on a city allowing them to use an opposing player's route to connect to a city), it is my least favorite modified way of playing-although it is usually necessary to complete all of your routes.

We have played this dozens and dozens of times, especially on the iOS app, but my gaming tastes have moved on in recent years. It's a good game to introduce to casual gamers, but we haven't played this in a good while and I have no desire to play this again any time soon. Maybe by the time our 2 year old son has grown up enough to play board games, we'll pull this out again.
