With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes, while providing players with intense strategic and tactical decisions every turn. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route.

I'm undefeated at this game (from my wife...) But then she beat me (ONCE!) at Nordic Countries. She keeps trying, though. Doesn't matter how many times I win. SHe really likes this game! EDIT: Nope... She's starting to beat me now... ARGH

Not my favorite game to get out, but once I start playing it, I usually get really into it. It's a simple mechanic that can lead to ruined friendships if you're not careful.

Along with Catan, this is one of the evergreen/gateways of modern board games. You place trains on tracks in order to complete your tickets and score points. Simple straightforward game.
