With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes, while providing players with intense strategic and tactical decisions every turn. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route.

Decent, light simple game, but everyone quickly tires of this one. I use the same strategy every time (take the lowest value tickets, hoard cards to play on the biggest tracks) and rarely lose. Took me forever to finally get a copy of this, and I am glad that I did. I saw the reviews and BGG rating but every time I was close to dropping the cash for it, I would look at the components, look at the theme, and go, "erm, no." Turns out it is a well made game with a tight system that is accessible to nearly everyone no matter what their level of game experience. Moral? Do not judge a book (or game) by it's cover.

Fun game to play with at least 4 players. The game is simple yet well balanced between strategy, timing and chance (cards) to make it fun and enjoyable without being too heavy and long to learn.
