With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes, while providing players with intense strategic and tactical decisions every turn. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route.

I get the hype of the game. It is fun, but I would not want to play it too much, because I could see it getting old.

I know this is one of the most popular games that Board game geek can advertise for, but I don't enjoy it nearly as much as the other Euro games on my list. It seems like there is less interactions with people than other Euro games, which is what I find appealing about them.

I have played this one many more times than I've recorded. I think it is a fine gateway game, but I do not find it particularly engaging nor strategic. The value of laying down 5 or 6 link tracks is too high compared to ticket completion, which essentially breaks the game.
