With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes, while providing players with intense strategic and tactical decisions every turn. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route.

Along with Catan, this is one of the evergreen/gateways of modern board games. You place trains on tracks in order to complete your tickets and score points. Simple straightforward game.

Absolutely perfect family weight game with room for skill growth. Quick to teacher and I've yet to play with someone who's had a bad time. I think I'll forever love TTR!

Decent, light simple game, but everyone quickly tires of this one. I use the same strategy every time (take the lowest value tickets, hoard cards to play on the biggest tracks) and rarely lose.
