With elegantly simple gameplay, Ticket to Ride can be learned in under 15 minutes, while providing players with intense strategic and tactical decisions every turn. Players collect cards of various types of train cars they then use to claim railway routes in North America. The longer the routes, the more points they earn. Additional points come to those who fulfill Destination Tickets – goal cards that connect distant cities; and to the player who builds the longest continuous route.

This was my gateway in to board gaming as a hobby. I owned other games before but they were if we didn't feel like playing magic. This game opened the door to making board games a hobby.

Very good game. Not too hard. Not TOO competitive until the end when you're all scavenging for points (unless two players have similar goals ;) ). I'd totally play it again.

A classic for a reason, no one's going to burn any brain cells on this one. Just claim routes, connect cities, and have a lovely time. Until everyone blocks you and you passive aggressively block off the entire northeast out of spite.
