More cards is good. One time specials are fun, though the little circle things don't really fit. The game changing rule is a good idea as well. The extra cardboard is a bit superfluous. Too bad the circle board from the base game is too big, otherwise the whole game would have fit in the expansion box, which would have been nice.

Seasons expansions are great at adding cards and, this way, expand the life of your game. But the other additions are not that great. "Special ability tokens" are the most deceiving addition. They could have been great if they had worked as "leader cards" work in 7 Wonders. These give you a game-long special effect or increase points of other cards. This, in Seasons, would have helped develop or reinforce strategies. Instead, the "speacial ability token" is activated once in the game and works as the bonuses we already had in the base game.

I pretty much always include this expansion. Everyone loves special powers and if we pick a bad enchantment we just pick a new one. This is a "more of the same" type expansion even though they give new stuff, it feels like it was designed with it from the beginning.
