While empires rise and fall in Eastern Europa, the rest of the world takes notice. Two distant factions, Albion and Togawa, send emissaries to scout the land and employ their own distinct styles of conquering. The expansion works seamlessly with any version of Scythe.

Design a game with seven factions, but give buyers only five of them. Then, charge buyers an extra $30 or $40 to get the last two factions.

Two more factions with interesting mechanics, a fun way to change up the base game with more options. I'd recommend against trying to play with more than 5 though as a turn based game would get very bogged down.

The new factions felt less than half baked to me. The abilities of the core factions are almost always useful. The new factions have really situational and uninteresting abilities. And IMO their lack of speed is far more hurtful than the boost they get for not having a river. I think the game is better without them.
