Game one was an absolute hit with my 9yo, and the adults had a pretty good time with it as well. Easily the most engaging kids game we've tried. 3 players was pretty good but we were able to avoid much interaction for the most part, I can see how it would get a bit more interesting with 4+ players. Keen to get it out again! Update: This dropped sharply for me after a couple more plays. Got repetitive quickly and it was pretty difficult to play sub-optimally to give the kids a chance. Too involved for the kids to play on their own, and I have no desire fo play it again.

I got this after I purchased Scythe, as an option to play with my 9-year old daughter. After one game she said she didn't like it because there wasn't much tension during the game and she said the resolution was not very satisfying. I agree with her critique, but on the upside, this is a handy way to cut your teeth learning the basics for adult Scythe (although that game takes less than one playthrough to understand). I do like the miniatures, they were fun to paint. My daughter now just wants to play adult Scythe with me, so I guess something good did come out of it. I'll hang on to this because it's a good warm-up for Scythe and each game only takes around 30 minutes to play.

2018/11/02 - 1 play 4p On our first play we were beaten by our 10-year old who was playing distractedly... So now I wonder about the skill to luck ration of this game, but I guess we need further plays to sort it out. Anyways as a family game it's a win, since the wife liked, the 10 year old who did not want to sit at the table became interested by the endgame, and the 5 year old was very happy to be participate (we read him the cards). Everybody ended with 4 trophies, and my 10 year old won with 9 friendship. I also had a good time ^_^)
