While empires rise and fall in Eastern Europa, the rest of the world takes notice. Two distant factions, Albion and Togawa, send emissaries to scout the land and employ their own distinct styles of conquering. The expansion works seamlessly with any version of Scythe.

It's very cool in terms of themeing and the art and minis however the actual factions from a rules perspective seem weaker than their main game counterparts

The new factions felt less than half baked to me. The abilities of the core factions are almost always useful. The new factions have really situational and uninteresting abilities. And IMO their lack of speed is far more hurtful than the boost they get for not having a river. I think the game is better without them.

Player Mats: both are strong, fun to play and add variety to the game (in general i do enjoy it a lot more when all players are progressing fast and I do get bored easily when all players are close to doing nothing with a weak board and a weak faction) Factions: To me Togawa adds nice dynamics to the game Albion on the other hand was not needed at all and can stay in the box.
