While empires rise and fall in Eastern Europa, the rest of the world takes notice. Two distant factions, Albion and Togawa, send emissaries to scout the land and employ their own distinct styles of conquering. The expansion works seamlessly with any version of Scythe.

Player Mats: both are strong, fun to play and add variety to the game (in general i do enjoy it a lot more when all players are progressing fast and I do get bored easily when all players are close to doing nothing with a weak board and a weak faction) Factions: To me Togawa adds nice dynamics to the game Albion on the other hand was not needed at all and can stay in the box.

I am not a huge fan of the two factions this expansion adds as I find them somewhat annoying to play, which makes the underpowered for inexperienced players. On the other hand, this expansion is kind of necessary for the game to feel 'complete' and I've enjoyed playing this game with the full 7 players. My general impression is that these two should have just been part of the base game.

Once you have this expansion, you can usually just use this in the regular game. This expansion allows you to use all of the Faction basis on the board. I always just choose the factions randomly, these ones have the extra benefit of not being trapped behind rivers, but that may force you to not build mechs for battle right away.
