In the near future, the mega-corporations of the military-industrial complex have invested trillions developing cybernetically enhanced clone soldiers for off-world exploration. Seeking to build robust teams for future missions — and more importantly, to land lucrative government contracts — they have created special training islands. On these islands, they are able to simulate all of the deadly conditions their soldiers may face on remote planets.
To fund these expensive programs and the military-grade innovations built into their test subjects, the arms manufacturers have teamed up with media moguls to create and promote broadcast competitions live from the island’s training grounds. Thus was born “RELOAD”, the biggest TV show on the planet, with the most charismatic and capable subjects competing in front of millions of avid viewers to win fame for themselves and fortunes for their creators.
In Reload, you get to engage in this battle-royale experience thanks to an innovative action dice system that offers fast-paced play and the freedom to explore the island while fighting for fame.

I played it with 4 friends yesterday (I have the 5-6 player expansion) and it was a massive hit. Everyone really liked it, despite the difficulty in working out the myriad edge cases which are not explained in the manual. In other words, the game is a blast to play, but not to learn. I had to sink in several hours reading the manual multiple times AND reading the forums AND watching let's plays on Youtube before I felt even half-confident enough to bring it to the table, and despite this, my friends had many questions that I couldn't answer, so I wrote a massive list of 20+ of their questions to the developer... Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad I went through the trouble to learn it! The effort was very much worth it, and my friends agreed! But be prepared to invest hours into the endeavor and read all the available help threads in the Rules section of the game's forums here, if you want to play this game correctly and not house-rule it on the spot whenever questions arise. To the designer's credit, he's very active on the forums and has answered most of the questions. The assigned-dice system is really clever and makes it so the more actions you do in your turn, the more vulnerable and easy-to-kill you become, making this game a very engaging balance of risk and reward. The many items and equipment pieces available add huge variety, are very interesting and fun to use, and some have very creative and amusing effects. Definitely the best PvP experience I've ever had in a board game! Hard to imagine there can be a better port of a Battle Royale videogame to tabletop form, and I can foresee this becoming a staple of my board game group.

Rules are complex for the first game but next games were really fun. Fights can be really punitive (and fun). Need to play more on differents maps. Lack of general strategy and tactical moves

Had a blast playing this on Tabletopia (battle royale mode, 4 players). Cool dice mechanics and a lot of fun! I will probably like team royale even more. Will try that soon. Also have to try with 2 players. Update: Played Team Royale yestrday. It took us almost 3 hours (including explanation of half an hour). I hope this is a lot faster on a real table... Reduced rating 8 --> 7. Still fun.
