This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.

Just a tad too simple to really interest me. I like the clean ruleset but the game turns felt a little too programmed. Not often you're faced with a hard choice what to do. Played with 5, and that's probably not an ideal number. Maybe the balance is better with 4 players instead.

Top 3 cube rails game at the moment, along with Nor Pac and Soo. Amabel's designs just resonate really well with me. I love that you don't know what kind of earnings you're going to get when you draw the cubes and that it doesn't matter how many of a particular color is drawn, it'll only play once. It immediately kicks on the probability portion of the brain and starts the re-valuation of everything. So good.

Interesting from start to end. Simple to pick up, quick to play. Lots of key decisions are hard to make because you only get one action a turn, and many actions are as likely to benefit your opponents as much or more than yourself. Timing/posturing is key. Lots to revisit here for a quick cube rails game.
