This mechanic requires you to place a bid, usually monetary, on items in an auction of goods in order to enhance your position in the game. These goods allow players future actions or improve a position. The auction consists of taking turns placing bids on a given item until one winner is established, allowing the winner to take control of the item being bid on. Usually there is a game rule that helps drop the price of the items being bid on if no players are interested in the item at its current price.

:d10-3::d10-4: Well, I won our first two games. But I suspect we all played terribly. Lots to explore in such a short game. The interaction between each of the moving parts is very interesting. The dividend cubes, in particular, feel like the economic game version of Chudyk's cards. They mean so many different things depending upon the context.

Love the production quality from Capstone Games and has my first real cube rail game I have enjoyed the relatively few plays of it that I've had. Being from Ireland this game also has special sentimental value.

Iberian Gauge's more chaotic older sibling. i wasn't sure i would want to own both games but i really do. they're quite different. this one seems more variable and more "party" game in a way. there's quite a bit of randomness but it actually creates an edgy and interesting decision space. unlike most of my library, it plays quickly and the rules are on a single A4 sheet of paper. oh, and it's beautiful. more Amabel Holland & Ian O'Toole please. starting at an 8 but i see this going up since it seems actually quite replayable and i've had a blast both times i've played it. p: 3 - 5; 4 - 5
