Al Capwnd You
Gismos feels like a lighter version of Terraforming Mars in terms of an engine builder. A card-and-marble engine building game where you can chain/domino abilities. The marbles might initially think of a kid's game, but there is a good bit of strategy to make an efficient engine work towards earning you points and not just spinning its wheels. Terraforming Mars feels like it is a more mature game with more depth, but Gizmos is easier to get to the table for a family. If you enjoy engine builders, Gizmos is a great addition as a lightweight introductory game that will still be fun after the initial play.
ArbitraryRanger
Tremendously fun game; long enough to build a strategy, but not long enough where it over stays its welcome. Will always play if asked.
Antiquus
Nice, fast and comboistic engine builder. Is too short when it end at 16 cards built, and have too many combos when you jump from an action with all bonuses to other free actions with all theirs bonuses. Changes for perfect play: - when you execute an action apply all bonuses from other cards already built, but when a bonus give you another free action, don't apply any bonuses for this new action. Exception: when make the research action you also get all bonuses from the 'file' action if you chose to put a card it in your archive and from 'build' if you chose to construct it. - the game end when a player build his 4'th/3/2 level 3 gizmo in 2/3/4 players game. All other players continue to play if they didn't executed their turns, untill the actual round is over. - implement in final score, the addon "extra credits" rewards: check if each player has builded at least 3 cards or more in a domain. For sets of 3+ give reward: 1/3/6/10/15 points if you have 1/2/3/4/5 different domains that have such a set. I've tested it and work amazing better.
