In Action Point (AP) Allowance System games, each player is allotted a certain amount of points per round. These points can be spent on available actions, until the player does not have enough remaining to "purchase" any more actions.
Action Point Allowance System
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Genial juego, te hace sentir parte de un clan vikingo explorando islas vecinas. Ágil y accesible para nuevos y experimentados.

This one is good as most of their games are but I don't like it as much as their Raiders or West Kingdom stuff.

June 2020 Got the Rock of Ruin expansion. Going to give it a try. I love the series and I think this one is a solid game. Carcassonne pick up and deliver with a lot of uncertainty what is coming next. I look forward to the minor rule changes. We might still play our house rules. We played a few games with you can always move a boatload of things (exactly 3 meeples) with an action. April 2020-My wife and I played it 2 player and I really liked it, and she thought it was good, the least favorite of the 3 North Sea games. I think there were a lot of rules that we messed up on our first play. I did a little better than her, I think because I had watched several videos prior to buying the game as it was one where i couldn’t tell if I would like it. I mean, many people compared it to Carcassonne and though I liked Carcassonne, I have played it a little too often. But Explorers is sorta nothing like Carcassonne. You are trying to do lots of other things, not just area control. I enjoyed trying to figure out each turn, exactly what my 4 actions were between turns, so much so, that I often forgot to lay a tile to start my turn...i would do the actions and then oops, lay a tile down, which I think still works fine, you just don’t get first dibs on the tile your laying. We both thought that if the boat has 3 Vikings/animals, that when on land you should be able to move 3 Vikings. We found it difficult to only move 2 Vikings and get anything done. We plan on trying it out allowing a boatload of Vikings to move on land together. Only 2 Vikings if one is carrying an animal. But only one Viking still cant wrangle 2 animals. Something like that should ease the burden of not getting everything done on land we wanted to. Maybe in a 3-4 player game we stick to the rules, perhaps it would be better. Overall very interesting game. I liked that it was light and not too long. April 2020 Received in trade from BoardGameCo, for in part (26/68) Gravwell, in part (42/68) Tash-Kalar Approx. $23.80 to $34 trade value
