Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Extremely good expansion maps for Concordia (Aegyptus with up to 3p max., Creta 2p max.) Very tight gameplay, the yearly Nile floodings are implemented in a very elegant and atmospherical way, a pleasure to play with. A must-have if you love Concordia

Played the Egypt map and definitely enjoyed the slightly different rules with gold and frankincense that can net you coins and victory points at the cost of losing a ship for the game. I also liked how the one sea region required a colonist to get into which was another neat wrinkle on the typical play along with the bonus food marker that moved up the Nile. While Crete doesn't have as many changes, the changes in Egypt are alone worth the price to me. Very happy to have this map.

The Aegytpus board is my favorite Concordia board! It adds exciting new elements to the game: the Nile River provides a food/wheat bonus and players can retire colonists for bonus points. Also, there's a second waterway (separate from the Nile) that requires effort to reach but provides rich rewards! The Creta board works well for two-player games due to its small size. One of the provinces is special—it has only one city and provides a bonus good of the player's choice.
