Welcome to the Jungle: Ape-aratus tokens are at least moderately more compelling to chase after that the hinderances introduced by Gold and Silk. Otherwise, easy access to Monkey Idols is the most unique feature of this board. It's fine, and presumably reserved compared to its more complicated backside. Monkeying Around the Temple: This map is almost completely indecipherable, and not just because of the gears. Your ability to control gears is randomly determined by the ape-aratus tokens before the start of the game, and otherwise comes at no cost to the player, which can make the gears actually be a game element for some players, and easily bypassed by others. I'm really not in the mood to return to it. 33-Point Artifact: Cute. Time Winder: Quaint, unobtrusive (boring). Mini-Campaign:

Love the changes: corridors which cause clank, monkey idols closer to the entrance, two maps that play very differently but with simple rules overall. No reason to play the base maps over this.

This map is awesome on both sides! Definitely increases the complexity so it may not be for everyone but if you are looking to level up Clank! then I'd recommend this even though there are no new cards. There is a "mini campaign" as well but it's very simplistic so I wouldn't buy it for that.
