Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Player elimination occurs in multiple-player games (>2) when a player can be eliminated from the game and play continues without the eliminated player.

Very good, but could have been excellent! [b]Pros:[/b] I really like the player decks and player powers. The characters and new art and meeples are cute and flavorful! I really like the react cards and the arrive choices, even with fewer players it's just more fun when engaged on your opponents' turns. We had a lot more banter and bluffing about having relevant cards in hand. [b]Cons:[/b] The player powers are not at all balanced. Their power will depend on the player count, where e.g. D'Allan is much better with more players than with fewer, but characters like the Monkeybot Prime are just plain OP. It's such a shame because the flavor of the characters is well done and I love the asymmetry, but it's not fun when the game is decided during set-up.

I was surprised by this expansion. I was expecting something overpriced and simple, the usual add a few more tokens, a couple of rules to allow 5-6 players and a simple asymmetry. And well, let's be honest, it is kind of. Nevertheless, my first impression with one game, I recognize that they tried hard to do something interesting and worthy of throwing your money to. First, the asymmetry. I was just expecting a couple of new cards in the initial hand but I was surprised by a mini personal board for players and interesting characters. Second, the additions to allow 5/6 players. This is additional clank cubes, gold, artifacts/secrets tokens, etc. as well as a few rules to modify the set-up that allows a fifth and an even a sixth player. To be honest I would never play a game of clank with so many players. We have more than 50 plays logged and still the last rounds of the game are quite slow, with all the combos you are probably having to take into account. The downtime at five / six players will be too much, so this is an addition not very interesting from my point of view. Third, the "reaction" cards, are a nice surprise. I had already read about it before, and I was not impressed as it just looked like a patch to get people engaged in the huge downtime you have in the 5th / 6th player games. Basically, now you have some cards that, if some conditions are met, you can play during the turn of other players: you play it on the table and you draw an additional card (so when your turn arrives, you will play 5 + 1 = 6 cards). The specific decks of each character already have a few reaction cards on them and the expansion brings you additional cards to shuffle and use for the market (As usual… should we take out some "old" ones to avoid "dilution" of the new and be able to see them appear more often?). I must recognize that it works quite well in practice and it improves the flow of the game for people who already knows how to play. It forces the players to draw their five cards in advance quickly and start thinking about what they are going to do next, while keeping an eye on what the others are doing, as react conditions are dependent on others gameplay. For example, in the case of Xavier's orc, one react card can be used if somebody else kills the last monster in the market row. I don't know if it was due to the low expectations, but I enjoyed quite a lot this expansion. It is not something that blows your mind, but the asymmetry is interesting enough to give envy to explore the different characters gameplay. I am not sure they are fully balanced, we will see, but I do not really care. They are quite fun. In addition, the reaction cards are a good idea and improves the flow of the game for experienced players. I just found it a bit overpriced just for these two additions, as I disregard the 5/6 player one (even though it is a nice to have feature). My opinion is that it is still worthy to take a look at it, if you enjoy Clank! In our case, I believe that from now on, we will play always with this extension.

5-6 Players: Invisibility Cloak: This item is really, really strong. It doesn't open up any brand new routes for you, but it gives you tons of freedom to just explore around the board freely, since Dragon Attacks will become your only source of damage, and your Swords can be spent on defeating Monsters for more Gold, to buy another Market Item. Maybe it's a suitable addition with more players, but I don't like it. Dungeon Deck cards: I appreciate all of the extra effort that was put into making these cards. The different React triggers are an excellent way of adding a lot of diversity to the cards. They seem very well-designed for 3-4 players, are still fine for 2 players, and activate too frequently with 5-6 players, I'd imagine. My biggest issue with the Dungeon Deck cards is the Monsters and Arrive Choice cards, as they lead to an overabundance of Gold among the players. Potion of Stealth: It's certainly a minor secret, and only any good with 5-6 players. Characters: A fun addition to the game, but the additional power level isn't always something I'll want. Agnet: Suitable power level, but can sometimes falter due to a dependence on Companions. D'allan: He seems unexciting, but once you start getting your Finds, you realize how fun he can be. Garignar: A fun and flexible character to play as. Lenara: Her spells would be cooler if they were weaker, but you could use them more frequently. Starting with a teleport in her deck ends up being more exciting. MonkeyBot Prime: Any amount of early damage can lead to absurd payoffs, especially since it comes packaged with healing to counteract it. Crazy strong, whose only vulnerability is the chance of not being damaged at all. Whiskers: A lot of fun if you can draw a lot of cards and activate your Behaviors frequently, but any Character is good with enough card draw. It's annoying that what is arguably one of the weaker characters has an ability that is made redundant by the Invisibility Cloak, but I usually prefer to exclude those anyways.
