This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Goods conversation game very similar to Century Spice Road. This game adds worker placement and a little tableu / engine building. Players convert goods to cash in cards. The first player who gains the 8th card triggers the end of the game. + Artwork + Easy to teach + Smooth gameplay, quick playing time # Abstract game # Can be combined with the other games of this series # Compared to the other previous Century game, this is a little bit more for "gamers"

This is my least favorite or at least as much as the original. You only get to unlock maybe 2-4 locations which felt so limiting especially in a 2 player game with most locations covered. I will probably house rule that a random set is unlocked at the start and we can unlock the final 4 although maybe that means less incentive to do it. It just felt like it’s missing something or was not as balanced playing with the same locations. The set collection aspect which is new to the series felt odd and I would have rather seen player abilities like the second. So make it so you get the abilities on the tiles and the cards were just points. It would need something else to bring it together but it just didn’t mesh for us. My favorite by far is the second due to the sheer amount of randomized setup and pathways you can take to combo your resources. I will keep it as I have the trilogy so I am looking forward to playing them in different combinations. As it stands now I would play the second as a stand-alone and I would only play the first and third as part of a combination hopefully.
