Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Tried worker placement game. The system will work. Nothing too different from a mix and match of various such genre. We did not felt any flavour to the game, as we only concentrated on where the victory points will come from. The theme might have been thick, but it was near non existent in our session. Production wise is pretty good. Beautiful art. A very average game that is good for beginners and a family gaming session.

Love it! 25 rounds later I'm still keen to put this one back on the table. There's something immensely satisfying about cobbling together your path to victory from the opportunities presented, while pressure slowly creeps in from other players' actions and the endgame clock ticking down. Almost everything in the game is subtle, I could see some people being disappointed that it never really delivers big combo or engine pay-offs, but I personally find the hunt for efficiency and little advantages very appealing. I have [thing=285235]Age of Artisans[/thing], which I would come very close to calling essential. I would always play with it now, even with new players. Adornments smooth over one of the base game's rough edges by providing a way to convert excess coins to points & resources, and the Artisan workers are a simple but very fun little addition. Best at 4 players. It's still decent at lower player counts but the flow of the game feels a bit off - would always at least add in the AI opponent for 2p.

Tons of replayability when all the expansions and promos are added in. I love how the automa's scheme deck changes as the game goes on, packing the Guildhall and pushing up the Cathedral to end the game.
