Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Fairly standard fayre. Can't see that there is that much new or interesting. the board is annoying, so is that you spend half of the game taking back pieces. It's clearly a decent game but it's not one I am desperate to play again, as for me, worker placement games have to have something I find entertaining or edgy and this doesn't do either of those things for me.

A light game for sure. The strategies are a bit obvious but the board state changes constantly that you have to think on how to get there. The player interaction in this game is superb for a worker placement game. The push and pull between players is engaging without being overtly "take that".

By the Designers of Raiders for the North Sea. As Raiders, this game a new mechanic to the Worker Placement genre. It is a different style of worker placement game where each player has a massive amount of workers. Workers are only removed if they are send to prison where players can release them to make them available again. It is about collecting resources to construct buildings. + Artwork / iconography + Special persons cards and different characters for each player + Balancing virtue / honor track + Board is constantly evolving and changing + Back and forth worker placement + Compact game box + Quick playing time # No reset phase (unlock classical worker placement games) # High player interaction due to worker placement bumping. It has some treacherous player interaction but it not so badly.
