Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Initial thoughts: Architects is relatively easy to teach, offers a good amount of decisions, plays quickly, and handles interaction in a unique way for a Euro game. The "worker investment" mechanic is a refreshing twist on the genre, and the associated "capture" mechanic makes a lot of sense to pair with it. While the capturing could feel take that-ey, it doesn't hurt too much in practice. The Virute system is perhaps my favorite part of the game, as it adds a lot of freedom for players to do what they want. They can be a scoundrel and take the efficient actions and pay less on taxes, but they will also lose points if they aren't careful. Conversely, a player can be saintly, building the cathedral for big points, but they also lose out on the black market actions, which can be very powerful. I'm looking forward to playing this some more and seeing how different strategies play out, and also if the game stands up to repeated plays. I would also like to try out the solo mode soon.

1 play / 4 players LIKE: The different parts of worker placement is fun, because the added mechanism of other players scooping up your workers to slow your engine is a nice interactive touch. I liked building an engine and then trying to speed the game up to end quickly by building quickly at the end. I also liked having to spread around workers as to not attract attention from the other players. The virtue track management is also a nice touch, as low virtue can be advantageous. DISLIKE: The game won't work if players don't scoop up each other's workers, as one person's engine could run away with the game. Knowing the building cards and being able to find the correct ones can be advantageous, if lucky. OVERALL: Good, solid game. I liked it! Very, very similar to Viticulture, but AotWK has more engine building, which I like, but the theme in Viticulture is more interesting.

Un juego muy completo, de los mejores euro que he probado. Una pega es la caja, es excesivamente pequeña, más aún si se pretende guardar la expansión de artesanos.
