Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.

Card Games
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Cool idea but doesn't work that well for the flow of the game. Atlantean player often ends up playing well after other players have passed and it can be demoralizing to see them running away before the end-game scoring, particularly if they end up winning.

This expansion unfortunately ruined this game. Balance is completly broken. If You play as Atlanteans You have huge results - now a lot of cards are dedicated to them. From the other hand, if You play other faction You have a lot of uselless cards, and can do nothing at all.

Imperial Settlers is a wonderful game, which I've played plenty of times and is one of my favorites. Yet, this was such a disappointment. Yes, I played with all rules correctly. And yes, I know you should hate draft and go full Aggro against the Atlanteans player (which btw, that is already the ultimate proof that the faction is completely unbalanced). While this approach may work when playing with 3 or 4 players, in a 2-player game there's no way someone will be able to generate the amount of raze tokens needed or hate draft enough. The downside of scoring no points with faction cards is super dumb if they can get an early engine going and go miles ahead. Too swingy, a couple of early good draws and it's over.
