Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Card Games
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Have played as the Amazons once so far and I do enjoy them. It took me some time to understand how they work, since cycling through your deck is unlike many other games, but I think I'm starting to get it. Stone is very hard to come by for them, so getting stone production is important, unless you can get that gold production going. Now that I've finished a game with them, I'm very glad to own the faction. They add something new/different and it totally worked to play Amazons vs. Atlanteans even though neither faction had cards that were specific to the other.

The Amazons present a unique motivation to sacrifice Faction cards in order to get work done. The strategy seemed easy to come by, but still offered engaging choices. This faction does extend the length of the game for low player counts by virtue of how often the player needs to shuffle.

An original, innovative and coherent faction although the principal mechanics is not overly thematic... Plenty of (mini-)combos involving milling and tinkering with the faction deck. I like it. One more note: this is a strong faction and it seems easy to be led.
