The second official expansion for T.I.M.E Stories deviates from the time travels canon and projects players in a fantasy setting. It has a different approach than the previous scenarios, with different parallel paths to follow, seemingly leading to the same places. There is also a larger variety of characters, touching the main archetypes of the fantasy genre. Indeed, another great scenario for a surprisingly engaging game!

Loved the setting, loved the idea of fusing the T.I.M.E. Stories mechanics with a classical RPG setting, but this game (even more than Under the Mask) relies far too much on blind chance and learning-by-dying that just make the thing a slog rather than a gradually unfolding mystery that's fun to solve. Shame, because the lore is interesting and the setting is otherwise compelling.

I could see a lot of rules questions from oddly-worded abilities and items, but we had very few questions when we played. Maybe we're just dense, always a possibility! That aside, we enjoyed this one. The pacing of the game felt completely different from Asylum and Marcy Case, and that threw us off, but we enjoyed playing and liked exploring all the different stuff in the scenario. This is not my most favorite expansion, but I did like that it felt like D&D-lite, with more twists and exploration than most entry level campaigns.
