Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management

-sold- sleeved Dwarrowdelf 2 --- Since there are always some cool cards in the packs that is reason enough to buy them. That trip should be easy, right? It's just simple and uneventfull, right? Right? It is a more temperate adventure but depending on the cards the difficulty might be much more than 4.

2nd of the Dwarrowdelf cycle for the LOTR:LCG. Played this one twice as I got Arwen killed the first time. Lots of very nasty Shadow cards in here (all allies take 1 damage, discard 2 attachments, return enemy to staging area, etc.) made this one very difficult. Also, no Healing on last part of Quest. Brutal! I won on my 2nd go through by sacrificing Boromir to kill off 4 enemies in that deck's area. I then Quested all-in on the next turn and was able to get exactly the amount of tokens to finish. Glad that's done. Watcher in the Water next (and ohhhhh boy does it look fun!)....

QUEST: One of those so-called adventures where you just quest through as fast as you can to avoid treacheries and baddies. HERO: Noldor noble Elladan is near useless unless you also own The Redhorn Gate the previous adventure pack in the cycle that includes his brother Elrohir. But if you own both the duo is a fantastic combo that can attack and defend as long as you feed them resources. Fun to play and to build a deck around. PLAYER CARDS: The pack includes some staples, like Lure of Moria for all the dwarves, an excellent armor piercing weapon Rivendell Blade and lore trick Out of the Wild that lets you pick a card off from the encounter deck. These are so important for the card pool that I don’t even mind that the pack also has some cardboard used only in multiplayer.
