Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Very thematic! I understand that many people found this quest to be quite hard. I did not really have this experience though, however I've only played it once. Maybe my deck set-up was by chance very suitable for this quest. Anyway, a good quest to expand the Saga Campaign play with.

Strong narrative, but very luck-dependent (especially when playing solo) which can be frustrating at times and makes the games a bit tedious.

Fog on the Barrow-downs is a fun quest with an interesting twist. In this quest, players can get separated as some of them get lost in a barrow and then have to quest their way out. This means in multiplayer that players' decks need to be balanced to do some questing or else they might struggle while on their own. The encounter deck also includes a Tom Bombadil objective ally who can show up to help the players out. The quest can be played both on its own and as a part of the Lord of the Rings campaign mode. When played in campaign mode, the players can earn a boon from the quest, though there are no burdens in this one. This is a good, fun quest that covers part of the Lord of the Rings books that was left out of The Black Riders expansion. I wouldn't call it a must have, but if you want more from your campaign play through the novels, this is one you should get.
