Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This set has been a very enjoyable addition to the Unmatched Game System. Although I feel that Invisible Man and Jekyll & Hyde seem underpowered in 1 vs. 1 games against Dracula and Sherlock Holmes, the fact that you can play a 2 vs. 2 game can really balance things out. This only becomes more interesting when playing these heroes against other sets. Who would win in a game of Sherlock Holmes and Robin Hood vs. Elektra and Medusa for example?

Very simple to learn and play but can be difficult to master. This can easily scratch an itch for a strategy game or be a quick dueling challenge.

I don't know why we haven't played this game more than we have. It's easy to get to the table and would reward repeat plays. But for some reason it never comes up into our heads when we sit down to play, which is too bad as I've really enjoyed my two plays. I managed to win as Sherlock Holmes, but was defeated as Jekyll/Hyde. I need to try both characters again and we should try combining our different Unmatched sets.
