Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.

The meatiest of the three Tiny Epics we own. Suprisingly complex positioning day phase (for the few options it offers) and push-your-luck night phase in each round, a semi-randomised double-sided board and a number of items and ways to earn victory points. For the size of the box, it really packs a punch and has an enormous table-footprint. The strategising can get rather complex and the game may get a tad lengthy because of that. But I like it a lot. The art is pretty and meeples are just superb, especially when kitted out with items.

This is the only Tiny Epic I have played. And My one absolute PROBLEM with it is that it was tiny. Every game mechanic was wonderful, well developed, and encourages players to feel like they can bend the game to their will just enough to win their way. But small font on 1/4 of the spaces, unreadable small font on the goblin tokens, tiny:life, energy, magic, max life, max energy tokens that are all prone to being bumped out of place. These things are a gameplay problem. I can't enjoy the game, I cant enjoy the mechanics if I am constantly thinking "oh wait am I at 5 hearts or did i breathe too hard when I was moving one of my meeples". That said the meeples with equipment are well handled. Even the quest equipment had the fun solution of the item rack. But this game would do just everything more, and better if it wasnt tiny. If it was just Epic Quest marketing would have been a problem, but the game would have been so much better.

Plays quickly, little downtime between turns as you get to do the action that the current player picks. A nice little press your luck mechanic at the end of each round.
