Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Not my favorite tiny epic. Not very exciting with 2 players. The follow mechanic might drag the game on for larger player counts. I'll have to give it a try since it's recommended for 3.

Kickstarted. Absolutely amazing game. At first I thought some planet abilities were over powered and that some would be never used. Now I've played 20 odd games, I've realised how to get the best from what's in front of you whilst considering resources, abilities and victory points. I've used some cards less but when I've used them, I really needed them! Even if it did only give me one energy, it means I can use that energy to pay another player to use their colonised ability, which wins me the game! The satellites expansion add a nice twist to the game. Generally I keep the satellites for vps BUT the abilities are used when necessary. All about using them at the right time. You can get a quick/easy 2 vps from them too if you think that's all you need to edge your opponents. My first 'learning game' was well over an hour and I was worried it would always be a long game BUT now it only takes us 30-40 mins which is great! Components are of a high quality and art work is amazing. I made my own start piece out of fools gold which looks awesome! The game doesn't include a start player piece which was a bit weird... By far one of my favourite games.

I really liked this game. It's a very tight engine building Euro that involves a lot of player interaction with its quick turns, a follow-me mechanic, and adversarial plays. It's a full fledged board game inside a tiny box. Plays are quick and the game doesn't overstay its welcome. Down to play again. (Plays: 1)
