Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.

The meatiest of the three Tiny Epics we own. Suprisingly complex positioning day phase (for the few options it offers) and push-your-luck night phase in each round, a semi-randomised double-sided board and a number of items and ways to earn victory points. For the size of the box, it really packs a punch and has an enormous table-footprint. The strategising can get rather complex and the game may get a tad lengthy because of that. But I like it a lot. The art is pretty and meeples are just superb, especially when kitted out with items.

This is my first Tiny Epic game, and to be honest I was a little disappointed. Possibly my biggest complaint is the gimmicky movement system, which, sure, keeps you from absolutely dominating the game but feels very restricting and frustrating. It’s nearly impossible to accomplish everything you want in this game. Also, the scoring seems very unbalanced, as it heavily favors defeating goblins than any other task. I tried to focus on the magic track, only to realize that I could earn way more points for less effort by just beating goblins. And the art in this game is very busy, making it very hard to understand just what the heck is happening on the board. Also, some of the components are incredibly small and hard to handle. (But when you buy a game with “Tiny” in the name, you’d kinda have to expect that! So this is probably just me being fussy! Haha!) I did, however, really enjoy the Night Phase. It’s frustrating but in a good way. The game isn’t bad by any means and I’m sure I’ll play it again, however, it doesn’t nail anything on the head. It is more complicated than it has to be.

Not so easy to grasp it and a touch more rules for its size than should be. Yet it's different and there are interesting things. A lot of luck because of lot of dice throwing but can be fun if not taken seriously. Liked the solo.
