Provisional rating after 2 plays. A great addition to the base game. Changes it up for experienced players who've played hundreds of times. Not for casual players of TM. The original is a 10 and my ultimate top game ever. I would say this is shy of a 10, because there is some fiddliness to handling the trade tokens and some added administration. But my major gripes are about the publisher and their awful production decisions: There are trade markers for the 7 base colours. But then they didn't print separate fire and ice ones and stuck them on the backs of the base 7. WTF? How annoying is that? Seriously: print another punch board and charge me a few more dollars. PUBLISHERS: STOP PRINTING ONE SIDED TILES! THEY ARE ANNOYING! Secondly, they printed 4 reference tiles, instead of 5. This is the same crappy cheap ass publisher decision as gripe #1. Thirdly, the docks are tiny crappy tiles. Why not a small wooden structure in the 9 different colours? Even generic wooden discs in the 9 colours would have been better. Fourthly, the colour mismatch is annoying Lastly, the wooden shipyards are very light in weight. It's a cheap composite, and the heft and weight is half of what the base game wooden buildings feel like. Bottom line: the game play is really good. But the cost cutting, and penny pinching production cheapens the final result with subpar, crappy components.

Extends the game without taking away from the other aspects. Adds some nice bonuses and additional strategy.

It fix the only flaw Terra Mystica has: getting walled in any time, sometimes even before the first round.
