Smash Up: Munchkin
30m - 45m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 12+
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Cool mechanics (although some feel a bit repetitive) but with divisive theme and artwork. Probably the most unnecessary expansion.

Mainly I got this to Smash Up the fantasy factions with my pre-existing collection. I imagine a Dwarf/Kitten army is in my near future. But it's neat that the bases in this one spawn Monsters, and that there are additional Treasure cards, so the mechanics are ever so slightly different than the previous expansions yet easy to combine.

Fun expansion. There are many reviews that say that this expansion adds too much time, due to the extra reading required by the monsters. I didn't think it was an issue. This is a better use of the Munchkin art than the actual Munchkin game.
