Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Great game horrible miniatures... The game itself is outstanding. It has just the right balance of deck building Vs strategy on the board. Lots and lots of replayability. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would think these are good miniature sculpts. They are misscaled with one another, have very low detail and weird poses, and I think we're late stage resized/resculpted to fit in the boxes... I forgive PvP Geeks for this because its their first Kickstarter. I hope any new figures they make are massively improved.

Great game and a must-buy for fans of League of Legends, DotA, or other MOBA-style games. Played it with a few friends and overall the experience was positive. One small issue was we used the starter set/decks and ended up with Red/Yellow vs Blue/Green. The RY side felt like it had far more offensive capability than the BG side. Obviously this can be rectified with the additional heroes and card that were added, but just something to note if you only have the basic starter.

I could write a lengthy review, but the summary is this: Skytear is the game I’ve wanted for years now. - A board game version of the MOBA format. - Addictive match based game play that will have you saying “just one more” - Single player controlled teams. (No more losing because a troll inted down mid) - Base components are competitive, and acquiring more cards/characters is not up to RNG or free market prices, but reasonably priced expansions with predetermined contents. Not to mention that the QUALITY of components is through the roof. Even the BOX feels premium. Shout out to PVP Geeks for their execution. Can’t wait to get my hands on more expansions and to build a casual competitive community here in Colorado Springs!
